Southern Beltway

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission developed a series of projects to connect US-22 to I-79 to support economic development in southwestern Pennsylvania and improve east-west mobility in the circumferential corridor of the City of Pittsburgh. The U.S. Route 22 to Interstate 79 Southern Beltway Project will improve access for employment, industry, truck traffic, emergency services, and future growth areas by providing a modern transportation facility that enhances transportation continuity locally and regionally.

This project is being executed in phases with design contracts awarded to multiple Consultants.
